Your Easy Guide to Applying BIAB Nails at Home
Builder in a Bottle (BIAB) is a game-changer for anyone who wants strong, natural-looking nails that last. Whether you're a seasoned nail tech or a complete beginner, you can apply BIAB at home with the right tools—and a little practice.
Here’s a simple, step-by-step guide to help you get started with your BIAB manicure using Belle Beauty’s BIAB Kit or BIAB Essentials Kit.
🧼 Step 1: Prep Your Natural Nails
-
Gently push back cuticles and remove any dead skin using a cuticle pusher or cuticle nippers.
-
File your nails to your desired shape.
-
Lightly buff the nail plate using a buffer block to remove shine.
-
Cleanse the nails with lint-free wipes and nail cleanser or acetone to remove dust and oil.
💧 Step 2: Prime for Long-Lasting Results
-
Apply Nail Prep Dehydrator to remove any remaining moisture.
-
Follow with Nail Primer to boost adhesion and reduce lifting.
💅 Step 3: Apply Your BIAB Layers
-
Apply a thin first layer of BIAB as a base and cure under a UV/LED lamp for 60 seconds.
-
Apply a second, thicker layer to build strength and structure. Use the brush to create a soft apex (the highest point of the nail). Cure again.
-
If needed, apply a third layer for extra strength and cure.
👉 Tip: Work in thin layers and keep product off the skin to avoid lifting.
📏 Step 4: Refine & Shape (Optional)
-
If you’re going for a super smooth finish or built structure, gently file and shape the surface once fully cured.
-
Wipe the nails clean with a lint-free wipe and cleanser.
✨ Step 5: Finish with Top Coat
-
Apply a gel top coat and cure under the lamp.
-
Finish with a drop of cuticle oil to nourish and hydrate the nail area.
🎉 That’s It!
You’ve just done a salon-worthy BIAB manicure from the comfort of your home. With practice, you’ll get faster and more confident with each set.
